Kalāvanam plans to offer a dynamic range of experiences designed to foster creativity, inquiry, ecological sensitivity, and collaboration. All programs are shaped by Kalāvanam’s core values and a commitment to living and learning in harmony with nature.

Programs For Artisan & Community Engagement

Livelihood Programs
 

To support visibility and viability of artisanal work, Kalāvanam may:

  • Curate exhibitions in collaboration with other organizations

  • Connecting artisans with markets 

  • Host pop-bazaars or online directory to connect artisans with wider audiences.

Local Community Engagement
 

Our programs are rooted in the local context, seeking to involve and uplift surrounding communities:

  • Local Craft Revival Projects

  • Cultural Festivals & Fairs

  • Vocational training workshops 

Artisan Skill Development

 

Efforts to strengthen skills may include:

  • Financial Literacy Workshops

  • Design & Product Development Programs

  • Artisan Skill Development   

  • Entrepreneurship training programs with organizations and experts on social entrepreneurship and design thinking.

Research & Documentation

 

Preserving and propagating traditional knowledge is a central aim:

  • Craft Documentation Projects: oral histories, AV documentation, content development 

  • Research Fellowships  

  • Resource Archives
